not chewing!!!

I’m a first-time mom and my husband has also never been around a baby the truth is I’m having a problem my son is already 14 months old and he doesn’t chew the food he always swallows it. When I started introducing him to goose I started with puree everything was m and very small pieces now I’m trying to give him bigger pieces so that he can bite and tear off the piece and then chew but he doesn’t do it he puts a very large piece everything in his mouth he doesn’t chew and he tries to swallow it I don’t know how to teach him to chew I’m so worried because he’s already 14 months old and I don’t know how he’s going to start chewing someone has any advice to help me start introducing him to chew the food.

My daughter does the same sometimes. I would just still do small pieces. They can be somewhat bigger but they will learn the way to eat it. So if he wants to swallow it then okay he will. Still have it a safe size. But if he starts to gag then he’ll learn what not to do and all that

I give him something to bite off but keep my finger next to the "line" until which it's ok he bites off, so he doesn't bite off more than he can chew. I'm trying to at least introduce biting

Same here !!They will eventually learn
