Introducing finger foods

Baby has been having purees since we started weaning, currently using thicker/lumpier purees and also has the occasional melty stick. Any tips for introducing more solid finger foods?

Get the solid starts app you can search any food and it’ll say how to cut/ serve the food x

Give her a bit of what you are having served differently (see solid starts as per above) and persist. My little one wasn’t a big fan of BLW to start with refusing to even touch things but she has turned into a pro in the last few days.

Oh and you can do a mix of purees and BLW to start with to ensure she does it a bit if BLW doesn’t go as planned.

I give a lot of finger foods at lunch only. I tend to mash up and puree most meals. If the baby has what we have at meal times it only tends to be the veg (i am a veggie) like 🥦or 🫛. I gave her mini corn this week (as I made a Thai curry) but what she actually ate was about 1% - it was more holding / bringing to mouth / sucking it really. Lunch is pita / baguette ends / egg cut it to fingers / melon pear etc
