Anti- d injection

Hi all, I’m waiting for the blood test results to come back to see if baby has rhesus negative blood like me or positive. I know that if baby is positive I can have the anti-d injection but my midwife told me it’s now just one big injection at 28 weeks and no need for it after birth. Everywhere I’ve read says it’s two injections, one at 28 weeks and one after birth (not including additional ones in case of bumps etc). Has anyone else been told the same as me? I will double check with the midwife but just curious!

My midwife said 1 at 28w, 1 at birth and then if you have a knock to your bump

I only had one with my first! And absolutely fine. There isn’t any difference in effectiveness between 1 or 2 doses. Your hospital may prefers 1 injection as it’s more efficient in cost and time 😆

@Fatemah I happened to find a random paper online from my local health board from years ago saying why they are moving from two doses to one and all it talked about was saving money and time 😆🙈 but have also read that one dose is ok too x

On NHS what else can you expect really 😭, but honestly don’t worry about it! Maybe ask your midwife if you’re still concerned. I have my single anti D only dose in Jan this time around as well x
