How are we feeling about gripe water

Hi, I am in two minds with this one. Super popular especially in my culture to give to babies and I have found a sugar free and alcohol free one. But checking the ingredients it has sodium and malitol (sweetener) in it. Thinking to try some fennel tea and cutting down on the diary incase baby is more gassy because of that through my milk. I want to be mindful about these things but also seeing my baby in discomfort is really hard to. Shes just turned 1 month old.

This brand works wonders. Used it with both my kiddos and always get toots right after. ETA: sometimes it’s okay to overlook an ingredient or two that you aren’t please to see. If baby isn’t resting properly then they are growing well. You can also try drinking fennel tea as well (just boiled fennel seeds) it’s always soothed my kids gas and helped with my supply. You just can’t drink it long term or it will warm baby to much. And you lol.

Check out the earthly brand. They really put out quality crunchy products. I have their baby tummy tincture and their teething ones fabulous.

I’ve been down a gripe water rabbit hole... Apparently babies have died. Put me right off. Not sure how much truth there is to it but it terrified me. I did purchase this brand but ever used it x

i second trying Earthley. their products are completely plant based & they use organic herbs which are the best thing for healing & to take as supplements/multivitamins. i also think you’re idea to cut back on dairy is good. our bodies (especially babies) aren’t really built for it lol

Malitol has been linked to GI issues such as grassiness so you may be just replacing problems! I’d check baby’s latch in case they’re gulping air while feeding, making sure to burp often, tummy time can help to kinda break up any gas bubbles, belly massages (clockwise in the direction of their large intestine), bicycle legs

I'm very selective on what I give my baby. Wellments organic gripe water worked wonders!
