All contraception has side effects, especially if you’re on it long term. Most are rare though. I used the combi pill before I had my babies and it worked well for me x

@Jordan ohh what are combi pills by the way.. Is it like the pills that we need to take one everyday

It's worth going tk a sexual health clinic. The first time I went on contraceptives I went to one. They asked me what I wanted out of contraceptives aka long term or short term and if I had a preference. They went through the risks of all of them. If you want kids sooner rather then later then either the combined hormone pill or single hormone pill may be best. If you want to wait longer the implant or IUD would probably be your next best bet as some people it takes 2 years after the injection to get pregnant

I heard from some people that IUD can get PCOD after the use does anyone know how accurate is this information

@Gayathri I can't see anything in any medical journals, just that it can help people who get it. Its quiet common. It's worth asking a medical professional if there aren't any on here happy to advise :)

I’ve just had the mirena coil out - certainly didn’t rate that! Ended up having an ultrasound and internal scan.

There's no such thing as birth control without side effects. Every person's body reacts differently. I have never had any reaction to having the implant, but my friends have all had reactions. It's really just a case of trial and error

I started the progesterone only pill after birth and it’s been great for me, I was really worried about side effects but haven’t felt anything. I also had the copper coil before birth - it was painful to have it fitted and then I had painful and heavy periods for about 1/2 years but then was side effect free (I had it for 10 years). It’s all very personal though as everyone has totally different experiences

@Gayathri the one I was on I could take a week break for a period then start again after 7 days. Or you could keep taking it so you didn’t get a period.
