It's meant to be 6 weeks... I managed to wait 4 weeks.
I had my baby 10 days ago and just before being discharged someone came round to speak about contraception etc etc and the rule used to be to wait 6 weeks but she said it is no longer that anymore she said it is whenever you feel ready and obviously just take precautions due to being extra fertile for a while xx
They say 6 weeks because that’s when most women stop bleeding completely I guess
@Natalie I stopped 2 weeks ago so I guess this counts me out 😏
@Tori thank you for your comment. The rules change all the time don’t they 😥 xx
@Kirstie thank you x
@Stacey haha thank you 🥰 xx
Absolutely! Never know what’s right and what’s not anymore 😩 xx
I had no complications or anything and I was 3 weeks pp when I first done it x
I was going to post the same!😂i'm only 18 days pp but with my first i waited 2 weeks xx
@Molly my 2nd baby was born in January this year I stupidly had unprotected sex (won’t do that this time) and I had to 3rd baby November 😜. I am blessed and grateful but I am scared pregnancy will get me 😂 so will definitely use protection till I can have something xx
oh i definitely wouldn't risk it then! don't trust contraception though both my kids i was on that and the recent baby i had the coil🫣
They say 6 weeks because that's the amount of time it takes for your internal wound where your placenta has detached from to heal and cervix to close, before then there is a small infection risk from the sperm/ejaculate/penis
@Charley thank you

Whenever you feel ready! I’m 3 weeks PP and we did it the first time last night, I also had to tears x
I’m the same 4 weeks pp on thursday, no tears but the 6 weeks rule puts me off 🤣
Had an episiotomy with my 1st and we waited 3 weeks. I’ve had a 2nd degree tear and it’s been 4 weeks but I feel ready to go again. No one has given a timescale to begin again, it’s normally you’re super fertile so think about your contraception only. It’s your body, you know if you feel comfortable.
I’m thinking the same thing after a c section so no judging here haha
