I’m not okay

Sometimes I think I should be admitted to a mental hospital, I’m not okay but what’s going to happen with my baby? For how long I can be admitted? How can I be admitted? I have never been in one, but I really think I went crazy after getting pregnant

If you go into a hospital program your baby would likely be placed with a relative or temporary foster care. I don't know the ins and outs of all of that, you should reach out to a mental health care provider and they will have more information for you. Not knowing all the details, there are also partial hospitalization programs and intense outpatient programs you could try to get into. They don't require you to stay in a hospital, but you will need to get daycare for your baby.

So if you are seriously considering this I would set up everything in place before you go. Talk to any help or family you have about your baby and the care they may need. Talk to intake counselors, see your options. Beds may not be available right away and you can be placed on a call list. Make sure bills are handled. They usually determine your lengths stay by how you answer questions in your intake. I don’t think they can give a definitive answer until then. I personally would not just go in without a plan.

Could just be a chemical imbalance in the brain and possibly low iron. Ask someone you trust with your child to take care of and know that they will give your child back when you are well again. Set up an online banking app so you're able to send enough money for your child's needs. Get a referral from your doctor to see a psychiatrist. Which will be where your community mental health clinic is. The psychiatrist will help get you in the mental ward. You will stay until you are doing well on the medications that's given. Always research what the medications are and what the side effects are. And always let them know when a medication is making you feel worse or if you experience bad side effects. Honestly they just feed you up with medication and it's up to yourself to learn and understand how medication effects you and if it is working or not. You could be in there for 1 week or even months depending on your recovery

Just be sure you can and will get your child back. Sometimes the person looking after your child will try to get full time custody. And you will have to go through lawyers and court. ( Worse case scenario)
