Formula

After some advice/help! So for making formula during days our we usually use the tommee tippee prep & go flasks, one black with hot water and the white for cooling it. Our white cooling flask has broken and they're in the mids of replacing! 🙏 Is this right.... if I boil kettle and put water into a spare sterilised bottle to cool, keep this in fridge over night? Then tomorrow I can use another bottle to add 2oz hot water then top up remaining with cold previously boiled then cooled water? 🤷‍♂️ Hope this makes sense, please correct me if wrong! Thanks all ❤️

i couldn't understand much of what you meant lol I tried re-reading it a couple of times to see if it made sense but nope still kinda confused on what you mean 😅 but if it makes your life easier, i just use room temperature bottled water for my babies formula. I've never boiled my babies water before for all 3 of my kids I've always used bottled water and have never had a problem it's so much easier.

@Yailin same as yailin. I’ve always used bottled water. Eventually both my kids liked cold milk also, doesn’t hurt them and it’s easier in the long run.

Boiled water is just to sterilize powdered formula from cronobacter. The risk of getting it is super low (only about 2 to 4 cases reported to the CDC per year) and the CDC says you’re only more likely to get sick if your baby is under 2 months, premature, or has a weakened immune system. Using cooled boiled water neither harms nor helps. Boiled water would need to touch the powder to help prevent cronobacter infection. We never boiled water and just used filtered water. Currently I’m home during the day so we just make a pitcher in the morning for the bottles during the day. If we go out, I’ll just used bottle water and mix formula as needed.
