I had it in my pregnancy and I honestly felt exactly how your feeling when I was first diagnosed but don't beat yourself up it's not your fault the did struggle alot with emotions to start with but you get a routine and it gets better I ended up on insulin I could of just had more metformin but I opted for the injections because they don't pass through the placenta
Mine isn’t GD I’ve been type 2 since being 14 and no I wasn’t over weight not in the slightest I’ve been injecting myself since being 17 and I’m now 35 and I inject 4 times a day my first pregnancy I had her at 38 weeks she was 8lb 11 second pregnancy which was 16 months ago he was born at 36 weeks and was 7lb 3oz , have you been given the lebre ???
I had it with my daughter. As soon and they cut the cord and removed the placenta it went away. My daughter was on the chunky side as that is a result of GD. 8lbs 12 ozs. I did develop diabetes a few years later due to poor diet and lack of exercise but thankfully got that under control and no longer have it. I’m pretty sure I’ll have it again this pregnancy as I’ve been thirsty like crazy lately. I drink 2-3 liters of water a day and I’m always thirsty. I even cut out caffeine and sugar as soon as I found out.
I had GD, found it pretty tough initially to manage it all but eventually I found a routine of meals that kept my levels in check and got the hang of the insulin. I gave birth 2 weeks ago and my levels returned to normal immediately and baby had 3x perfect blood glucose readings before discharge from hospital 🙌 don’t beat yourself up about it as it’s nothing you have done or not done as you say it’s just the placenta interfering with your body’s usual function. I think they go heavy on the risks and warnings and it can all get really scary but as long as you follow the advice and keep your levels on check you and Bub should be fine
