School admissions

Hey ladies, when applying for school for your child do you have to put a reason why you want your child going to that school? &does it make a difference if you don’t write anything?

If it isn't in your catchment area or closest to you then I would

@Jodie okay thanks, I read on Google that someone asked a school about does it matter and they said that they don’t even read it. The first school I put down, I really want my son going to this school &im worried that if I don’t put nothing then he might not get in.

I think it might depend on that the reason is and what the admission criteria of the school are. From the box on the form it sounds like it is mostly for religious and philosophical reasons, which might be part of the admission criteria for some schools but aren't for most. My take would be if there are reasons e.g. religious reasons which relate to the schools admissions criteria (or which you think might) then it would be worth mentioning for your own peace of mind. If it's more general or unrelated to the admissions policy (written or unwritten) then probably not worth it. I think the latter will be true for most schools, but the box is there for the other cases which have 'nonstandard' (can't think of another way to phrase it) criteria.
