My little girl did this for so long and we realised it was the hand dryers she was scared of. One day when we took her swimming she was screaming she needed a wee and I held her on the toilet and just gave her reassurance that everything was ok as she had a wee. From then she just cracked it. She still says everytime “please don’t use the hand dryer” but the reassurance works ☺️. She will get it I promise x
I used to tell my son that’s it’s the same as at home. And when he started potty training the first time at preschool teachers allowed to go in and show him where the toilets are and go on it and I also then told him that’s it’s the same as at home. And yes, he is scared of hand dryers too, so before he even says something I already tell him- it’s just a noisy hand dryer don’t worry. Often women heard me say that and they don’t use it.
@Ellie my son is afraid of the hand driers as well so won’t use toilets while we are out. We have to find places for a wild wee but not sure what age this starts being inappropriate 🙈
I have no tips but would be careful to check for signs of a UTI as holding in for long periods can cause that to happen.
