Whenever the pediatrician gives me the go ahead till then only milk
I'm going to look for ready cues. Can she sit with minimal assistance, interested in food, grab and bring objects to mouth, and can she hold her head upright when seated. I looked for these cues with my son and he ended up being ready to start solids about 6 months.
For my first I was told they should be able to hold their head good and be able to sit up. We did it here and there when she was 6 months but mostly waited till after 6 months when she was more interested in it
With my first she was 5 months and I waited until she was sitting unassisted and interested in food. With my second I will be using the same standard so it may be sooner or later
My 1st was 4 months, and my 2nd was 5 months. im thinking the same time frame with my 3rd watching for signs of readiness my girl already had good head control
We won’t be introducing anything for nutrition till after one “food before one is just for fun” in our house. We won’t start things till after 6 months and then very slowly til a year old. We ebf and I make all our own purées with breast milk I pump for the next year or so.
My oldest son was 5 months when i started. My second son was 7 months. I've heard it's better to wait a little longer than 6 months. I know people have done it at 4 months. I wouldn't be comfortable with that age for solids though.
