Picky eaters

Okey moms with picky eaters come to the front! Lol my 4yo son is so picky with foods he will hardly eat at school 😒 he gets free lunch and I send him snacks. He will eat the snacks he likes but when I send him something new to try he does not eat it. We give him new foods to eat when available at home but sometimes its like pulling teeth for him to actually eat it 😩 me & his dad are struggling lol to the point we are sending a thermo to school with him so he can eat things like oatmeal and mac & cheese (he likes these). Anyway, what do yall do? Any tricks or tips?

It may be a sensory thing my son is 4 and on the spectrum we introduce new foods by telling him he can have one bite of food he likes with every bite of new food it seems to work

@Tashina that's interesting. We're going to try that. Thank you

@Tyiesha💜 you’re welcome

I've seen a chart, like a board game where a kid gets a sticker to put on each square til the board is full and they get a prize.1 sticker for each new food tried. Ive also heard of a 'no thank you bite'. This would be more of a home thing. They need to have at least one bite of everything on their plate. If they don't like the bite, they can say no thank you to the rest.
