Increasing milk supply

I’ve been trying to up my supply for months now, in the start I was able to nurse her along with pump an extra 2-5 ounces, than I switched to exclusively nursing and maybe pumping 1-3 x a day and that was okay for a while. Than she started refusing to nurse and I had to start pumping exclusively. But I can’t seem to get over 1 ounce total each pump. I’ve tried supplements and I know I drink enough. I’ve been pumping every two hours and power pumping. I don’t want to give up but I hardly make enough in a day to give her one bottle of just breast milk. Does anyone have suggestions.

I know how this feels! Do you use a hospital grade pump? Are your pump parts new? They need to be switched out every couple of months. Do you know you are using the correct flange size? Have you contacted a lactation consultant? I would try and be near your baby while you pump if you can and don’t watch the milk as you pump. Also try and relax and not stress. Massage can also help while you are pumping. Also how long are you pumping for? Sometimes it can 30 minutes of pumping every two hours to make enough. Breastfeeding is all about supply and demand. This happened to me when my baby was 11 months. I wasn’t ready to be done breastfeeding but my baby was wanting the bottle instead so I eventually just switched to formula. Just give yourself grace, you have done amazing!

Maybe try replacing your pump parts and see if that helps!

@Zamaria how many body armors did you drink a day?

@Makenna Everytime I ate, I had one w/ a bottle of water as well.

@Kallie I typically use my spectra or my zommee and occasionally use my wearables if I truly can’t sit and pump. I’ve been doing every 2-3 hours for 30-45 minutes for over a month. New parts in them all. Correct flange size as well. She’s typically right I. My lap while I pump and I even tried doing 1-2 power pumps a day for about 1.5-2 weeks

@EmilyAnne The lactation consultant I talked to suggested trying cash cow so I’m going to try that and if that doesn’t work I’ll give this a shot
