At what age did you let baby try puree

Just curious doctor said we could start giving him some and to give him same one for 5 days to make sure there isn't a reaction to food

My doctor recommended 6 months.The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that most children start eating solid foods around six months of age, but not before four months.

We got the go ahead at 4 months because my son is big and he was ready and showing all ready signs (holding head up, mouth chewing motions, chewing on fingers, mine and his, etc).

In Australia they say from 4 months 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Susie thank you!

@Kai what flavor puree did you guys try?? There's so many of them and I don't know what to try first

@Gabriella sweet thank you!

@AmaraI just boiled veggies and mixed it with some breast milk to make a puree and gave that, never purchased packet stuff, but I'd definitely stick to introducing one thing at a time incase of allergens xx

@Amara i started with Apple, then pear, then congee, then carrots. We went to banana next but it actually makes his spit up, the doctor said likely it's too heavy for his stomach because he did start early, so wr stopped that but haven't had any issues with anything else so far. Basically, get the single ingredient purees (or make them) first, and only introduce something new after at least 3 days because then you can tell if they have a reaction what the reaction is to. Mine is 5 months now and has a variety he's tried, slowly adding more things. I'm hoping he can have something slightly more solid soon as he now has teeth that have been chomping on mine and his fingers

4 months

We waited until 6 months and did a combination of purees and solids, even though we got the ok at 4 months. We're happy we waited. Our baby took to regular solids very well and she's a great eater now as a toddler - better than many adults I know!

We skipped puree and went right to solids at 6 months.

with doctor clearance i started around 5 months. she literally could not fathom us eating food without her. she’s almost 2 and eats EVERYTHING. ask. your. pediatrician.

4 months purees

In the UK we started giving a taste at 4 months. At that age it doesn’t give him any nutrients like his milk but it was more of a taste than anything
