Daytime naps what do you do?

Would love to hear from others, as my little one naps (sometimes after a lot of persuasion, but he does) mostly it’s contact naps these days as if I move him to his pod he wakes up straight away or a short time later crying and won’t settle back to sleep. I use wake windows and try to get him as much sleep as he needs, but it can’t be on me forever can it?! I also hear things about the same place and a dark room, but I can’t be in a dark room all day long. What do others do? Would love to know ❤️

My little girl has been napping on me in her carier in her pram or car seat but we are starting to do her naps in her big cot during the day if we are home in a dark room in her sleeping bag. We only started this morning and only got 20 minutes but it's a start!

I've given up on getting my baby boy to nap. I was finding it too stressful trying to stick to the wake windows etc. now I'm led by him. When he's tired, he eventually falls asleep. I found that I was trying too hard, walking him up and down the living room, shushing, doing everything I can for ages only to find it wasn't working! I find going out for a walk around his nap time helps (I know this isn't always possible!)

We contact nap pram or sling. I don't stay in a dark room for a contact nap. I have lights and TV on and he naps fine. I want to encourage him to be able to nap in lights/noisy environments as I can't be trapped in the house all day trying to get him to nap?

Day naps in his Moses basket in a fully lit room with normal noises. Baby led in a way. He always got tired around the same times, so now, just before I rock him so he gets to sleep without getting overtired and worked up. Sometimes, he wants an extra nap if one or all are shorter, which he does let me know about, so this one can take longer to rock and shush him, sometimes 15 mins.

Bassinet, play mat, on me, bouncer, table, couch, wherever she decides she's getting ready I leave her to self settle and watch her to make sure she's safe. I just pay attention to wake windows and pause stimulation after she reaches end of wake window

Wow that’s amazing @Djena my little one won’t self settle I’ve tried and it just wakes him up or makes him cry - how did you do that?
