Maybe try playing around with the timing of when you offer it - make sure she’s hungry but not too hungry, and not tired. No harm in taking a few days off and trying again later though if you think she might not be ready x
This is why I support the idea of starting with purées. Their little stomach can digest it easier as well as learning to swallow food is also easier. Then gradually thicken the purees and adding bits in there too. That will greatly help to get rid of the tong reflexes and will be a lot easier to start on finger foods or other solid foods without or very little gagging. This is just my view and experience. 😊
Don’t pressure yourself to much with it. Food before one is just for fun they don’t need it if they don’t want it don’t force it xx
We've had this. We had one day of him opening his mouth on day 3 I think but he spits most/ all out and he gags a lot on any blw food and has been sick twice. We're having a week off and starting again next week, hoping that'll refresh everything. He's still very excited when he sees me eating an apple and wants to lick it etc so I'm hoping a fresh start is what he needs.
