How much is your baby eating?

I’m starting to worry as my daughter isn’t eating anything solids 😬 she will eat the Heinz jars. I give her toast in the morning which she sucks then throws it away. Also how many meals are your babies eating? Should I introduce a 3rd meal? We bath her at 5.30 - 6 then give her a bottle and she’s in bed at 6.15-6.30. My husband isn’t home from work until 6ish so he feeds her and baths her sometimes. I have no idea ever to fit the next meal in 😩😩

Hello, our solution to a third meal was delaying bedtime to 8-8:30 pm. My son has dinner on the table with us, am keen to keep that as that is the only time we can eat together as a family on weekdays. Saying that, someday he eats much more than others.

Breakfast she eats quite well porridge or weetabix with banana or blueberries around 8am. Then milk at 10am before first nap. Lunch is 12/12.30 once she’s woken up and we try different picky foods like cucumber, tomatoes, sandwich meats, cheese, bread or toast with cream cheese, beans or eggs. She doesn’t eat much at lunch tbh. Milk around 3pm before 2nd nap. Tea is at 5/5.30pm and we’ll do either a modified version of our tea or something we know she likes like cauliflower cheese, broccoli & cream cheese pasta or sweet potato mixed with cheese & beans. Sometimes she wolfs it down other times she’ll just play with it. Sometimes she’s happy for us to feed her other times she has to do it. If she’s not eating that much I wouldn’t rush to do a 3rd meal just yet. All you can do is offer different foods in different ways and she’ll get there. When our LO wasn’t eating at first we stood back and just chatted between ourselves which I think took the pressure off. She then started to explore

My baby goes to bed at 6:30 and is on 3 meals, this is how we fit it in ☺️ 7:15am- bottle 8:15am- breakfast 11:30/45- lunch 2:30- small snack 4:30pm- Dinner 6:15- bottle 6:30 bed

@Emma thank you much! Does your baby have a bottle before bed too? How many oz ? Xx

@Martha thank you! This pattern looks similar to ours actually! How many oz does your baby have? What kind of foods do they eat? X

He has 9oz! Breakfast is always porridge and fruit/peanut butter or weetabix. Lunch is the main meal- risottos/curry/scrambled egg/baked beans/spaghetti bolognaise/salmon and sweet potato etc and then he has a pudding like some myoghurt or the Ella’s kitchen deserts. Dinner we keep super simple and a bit lighter as we noticed he wouldn’t drink his bottle if he had a big dinner. We usually give him toast with Philadelphia or some pasta. Snacks are things like melty puffs/wafers/yoghurt/fruit x

She’s breastfed but yes I offer before bed

@Martha my daughter has 8oz 4 times a day 😊 I think I’m going to do similar to you! Thank you so much for your advice! I will message you privately too if you don’t mind xx

@Emma thank you for all your help I really appreciate it😍xx

Of course!!! Xx

My baby just turned 10months and we’ve just introduced a third meal as our health visitor suggested it Our day usually goes like this- 7:30am bottle (I offer 7oz but he usually only wants 4/5oz) 9/9:30am breakfast 11:30/12pm lunch 3/3:30pm bottle 7/8oz drinks it all 5:30/6pm tea Then bed and bottle at 8:30pm 7/8oz again xx

My daughter usually wakes around 8 first bottle round 8.30/9 breakfast at 9.30/10 sometimes depending on her morning nap she will have lunch but I always offer a snack in the afternoon 2.30/3pm bottle then 5pm is dinner. Bottle 8 and bed

They say by this age they should be having 3 meals a day, my lg is a good eater she will have pancakes/toast for breakfast with some fruit. Sandwiches, some crisps etc and tea i always cook her something she is still having 3 8oz bottles as well its funny how she's only small also 🙈🤣

Our day goes a bit like this: 8am - breakfast 9:30am - milk 10:30am - milk (if she didn't wake overnight) 11am - nap 12:30 - lunch 3pm - milk 3:30pm - nap 5pm - sometimes snack depending on nap timings 6pm - dinner 7pm - milk 8pm - bed Overnight - milk if required My daughter loves her food.
