Thank you. That was our original plan but I’ve since heard premium economy seats on this route don’t have arm rests that lift up! So getting bigger seats to try and make it easier has sort of backfired. We haven’t done long haul with her since she was 6 months - just lots of shorter under 6 hour trips which have been a bit tricky(!) but manageable- so I’m a bit nervous about the night flight. I know it’s down to the aircrew on the day but we are in seats allowed to use comfort aids according to the BA guidelines so hopefully they’d be ok. Just can’t work out whether it’s worth it or not. But sounds like it might not be :/
Oh crap, sorry didn’t see that bit. No premium economy don’t, the tables are in the arm rests not the tray tables which meant we had this issue on one flight too. We did London to Seattle which is 10 hours in premium and it was okay, I just had to put her on my lap straddling me and recline my seat. She napped on me and had a good sleep herself, I was a bit sore but I was early in pregnancy so that might have been why. Once they dim the cabin lights though, she’ll be out like a light. Pack her blanket and travel in her pjs xx
Thank you! Think I will do the same in that case. Suspect she will sleep better on me than on a makeshift bed anyway. I’ll just find a few decent podcasts to binge while she sleeps! X
I won’t lie, we’ve flown over 20 times with our toddler and never seen anyone use a toddler bed onboard. Also, it’s down to the air crew in the aircraft at the time and what seat your child is in too. Best advice, put her between you and let her lay head on your lap and feet on dad. Our toddler passes out on long haul without issue xx
