I was walking 5 days post op 3 separate walks a so have three dogs. Walking every day more for my mind than anyway staying in drove me crazy….sending lots of love and speedy recovery xx
Saw a lactation consultant yesterday (she used to be a Health Visitor and nurse so she does have medical background) and she mentioned that some people find that they bleed more after they have pushed themselves a bit too much.
Think of it as a scab. Where the placenta was and you walking will irritate and move that area causing the forming scab to come away (bleeding) You will know when you have over done it as in the evening or after the walk you will be knackered and aching maybe in a bit of discomfort. Then you know the next time you don’t do as much and slowing go from there x
I was told that once you become more active, the bleeding may become slightly heavier but nobody suggested it was because you’re overdoing it. I think if you’re just bleeding slightly more or it starts again but isn’t excessive, then you’re fine. If you’re bleeding a lot more and have other signs of doing too much…ie. Pain or discomfort then that’s overdoing it x
It's like a period... You tend to bleed more when you move as the heart pumps more... I was walking around asda both times with my c sections at 4 days PP and I did like a 2 mile walk 1 week after with my first, I found it was hurting where my scar was when I was over doing it... Like I had been punched in the stomach then I would rest
I stopped walking after the first time because I was concerned after the bleeding. After my chat with the doctor I walked yesterday and started bleeding again in the afternoon.
