What could this mean?

I’m 33 weeks +5 days and had my 34 week check up today… on my portal it says trace ketones as well as 2+ for glucose in my urine…just wondering if anyone else has had this happen this late. For reference I passed the glucose drink test just fine… I’m sure Dr. will call tomorrow, but just curious if anyone has experienced anything like this?

Whenever you are positive with glucose in your urine that means your sugar is high. Definitely ask question with your provider, I also had trace of ketones in my last pregnancy in my case I was always dehydrated even tho I drank almost a gallon of water a day 🤷🏽‍♀️

Have you had any UTI symptoms?

I had this and midwife put the glucose down to having had bacon thst morning (I was shocked ) and the other down to discharge contaminating my urine sample. She thought all this because I wasn’t showing any other symptoms of a UTI. This may not be the same for you so always best to check but just wanted to reassure that it was nothing bad for me and little one is now 25 days old x

@Ariel some.. but today when I was still there she said something along the lines of not looking like I had a UTI just needing to drink more water.. do you think she saw these results before she told me that?

@Romina🇨🇻 @Carla meant to tag yall in my reply above as well ^^

Your urine analysis doesn’t indicate that you have an uti but if you are having some symptoms you can request a urine culture just to be safe. Sometimes doctors can overlook things so make sure you bring up your results and request an explanation.

I passed my glucose test but had it pop up high, as well as the ketones, one time which made them want to test it to begin with. It turns out it’s just what I had for breakfast that day. It could just be that considering you already passed your test. I would say to get a blood glucose monitor and check it off and on if you’re concerned about it! I’m sure they will keep an eye on it though!
