My baby seems hungry or thirsty all the time!!

My little guy is just shy of 13 months and he’s a big boy but his portion sizes are almost the same as my 2 1/2 year old daughter and he still crys for more! Hes started crying as soon as we come down for his bottle of milk and it’s like he’s so thirsty he drains in within like a minute! Hes waking now in the night and gave him some milk and he’s just downing it! Could this be a growth spurt? He’s become sooooo clingy this week constantly mamamama just holding his arms out to me.. This is a normal day of his eating if anyone could give me any advice on if it’s too much or too little? No judgement just advice please ⭐️ 7.30am 9oz of milk 8.30am wheatbix with strawberries and banana 10.00am a few strawberry and yoghurt bites (only a handful) 11.30/12.00 poached egg and avocado on toast 2.30-3pm melty buttons or some cheese nibbles 5.30pm roast chicken, Tomoto pasta and broccoli 7.30pm 9oz milk He will drink his water Inbetween Now that sounds a lot when written down maybe it’s too much and that’s why he’s crying but he eats it himself apart from the wheatbix! I’m hoping it’s just a growth spurt!

My 13 month old went through this about a month ago, was having second dinners, lunches etc and now for the past 2 weeks we haven’t been able to get a single meal down her. She went through this phase for about 2 weeks and now like I say won’t eat. It’s probably developmental but equally I think your example above is healthy and actually really nice to hear /see a baby eating well🥰 and I actually think the 3 meals, 2 snacks & morning evening bottle is normal, that what I aim for with my daughter & what nursery offer too x

Thank you so much! It’s nice to know we aren’t the only ones 😅😅 he’s a big lad already and I worry I don’t want to be overfeeding him 🥰 Yes I know I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining about him eating either as I know some mams struggle to get their little ones to eat! Everything is always a worry isn’t it 😅 xx

That sounds normal to me 🧐. My daughter has morning bottle, 3 meals, 2 snacks and bedtime bottle. The days she goes to nursery she has all that plus a snack plate when she gets home too. For her dinner and lunch I also always offer a ‘pudding’ it’s usually something like yoghurt, fruit, custard etc. So reading that I think my daughter actually probably eats more than yours 😂 x

I think that sounds really normal. And I bet he’ll go through phases where his intake will go down and back up again. My son doesn’t stop eating at the moment either, but he’s nearly walking and is moving most of the day so must be burning lots of energy 😅

Sounds very normal! I’d actually say my baby probably eats more as we also offer desserts (yoghurt, rice pudding etc). Babies and toddlers are intuitive eaters they know what they need. As long as you’re offering healthy options just let baby eat and they’ll let you know when they’re full x
