FET support

I’ve now had 3x FET, the first was negative, the second I got a faint positive on testing day but on testing a couple of days later it was negative, and my test day was today for our 3rd and it was negative. We have one more blastocyst frozen, I just wondered whether anyone had any tips/advice? It’s hard not to lose hope..

I’m sorry to hear this, it really is soul destroying. Make sure you push for testing before you transfer the next one…. Blood clotting and immunology tests are usually offered at this point. I had two FETs which didn’t implant at all, one which did and was then a missed miscarriage. I did the tests (I thought both of the above but it was actually clotting and lupus only). For the 4th transfer I was put on 20mg of prednisolone as there is apparently empirical research that this helps even if there is no obvious need. I had another missed miscarriage for my fourth but was successful on my fifth with the steroids and additional subcutaneous progesterone. It sadly seems like we’re guinea pigs sometimes, but definitely push for further testing at this point as it might just be a ‘simple’ tweak! Good luck! ❤️

It really is! I had tests after the second but everything came back okay. The only thing they queried was my thyroid as it was borderline but they did another blood test and it was still just below the level to require meds. I’m not sure whether I had immunology tests but I will ask. I’ve not heard of prednisolone I’ll look into that! Worth asking if I can try. Sorry you had such a rollercoaster journey but glad they found what works. It does feel like that! 🩷

@Laura I'm sorry for your losses before but glad it all worked out in the end with your 5th transfer! May I ask for the immunology tests, what tests did you do?

Have your embryos been tested? Many embryos have chromosomal abnormalities and would unfortunately not result in pregnancy as they are not viable. So if all your tests come back normal for yourself then it's just comes down to the luck of 'finding' the healthy embryo that will stick. I think this is why the success rates are higher with the more rounds people do as it's a sifting process

My first two failed and then I did vagina microbiome test, loads of probiotics and aspirin and my third worked. Also natural transfers seem to work for me and medicated don’t 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve had 2 medicated both failed and 3 natural, all have implanted (one live birth, one MMC and currently pregnant)

@LInka no they haven’t! Yeah that’s very true!

@Hollie I asked about using aspirin and the consultant said not to as I don’t have issues with my blood and it could have the opposite effect, wish I’d just tried now! I’ve had 2x natural cycles and then the one we just had I did medicated as I wanted to try something different, we also had embryo glue but nothing 😩. What probiotics did you take? I’ve not heard of a vagina microbiome test I’ll look into it! Thank you!

@stacey sometimes I think it’s just a numbers game. Statistically it takes on average 3 transfers for a live birth. I took vagina probiotics and symprove, also needed antibiotics as I had a BV infection which I didn’t know and had no symptoms. I never actually asked the clinic about aspirin, but I’ve done it for my last 3 transfers and I’ve got implantation with them all. One live birth, one MMC and currently 4 weeks pregnant.

@Hollie thank you so much, I hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.
