Constipated baby?

My baby is 7 weeks & yesterday only did 1 huge poo over 24 hours when she normally does 4/5 over 24 hours (she is peeing as normal) today she is very irritated & started crying if I put her down, but is still eating & sleeps on me. I’ve tried winding her, bicycle legs, stretches etc and still no poo. Should I be worried, does she sound constipated?

Have you done tummy massages and tried the FridaBaby Windee? It did the trick for us!

Check with your doctor! You’re not supposed to give water to a baby until way later.

Is she breastfed or formula? Around this age a decrease in the number of stools is pretty common/normal for breastfed babies. Our pediatrician said that in babies it's considered constipation if the stool is formed or hard. I would still reach out to your provider if you're concerned though.

She is mostly breast fed (expressed into a bottle) but has a couple of formula feeds due to supply. I didn’t know a decrease in stools was common so that’s good to know. I’ve just put her in a warm bath, massaged her tummy and bicycle legs, she has been burping / farting but no poo yet. Maybe I am panicking - I’ll see if she manages anything after all of this.

I don't know if it's still considered normal for combo fed babies, I would probably still check with your pediatrician just to be on the safe side! Especially since she's been extra fussy.
