C Section

I am gutted to be told I have to have a planned c section due to baby not in the right position. I'm so nervous. Any tips / advise would be great please. Also did you do a birth plan with c section? Thanks

Oh this is likely going to be me too - my baby is footling breech at the moment. I’m 34 weeks, and wondering whether he’ll make a move in the next couple of weeks!

Have you looked into spinning babies? Lots of things to try on there x

Is there no way they could try and move baby? How far along are you? You always have a say in what birth you want. You can do your birth preferences for c-section, e.g delayed cord clamping, skin to skin straight away if possible, breast feeding straight away if possible, who to cut the cord etc. I’m getting induced but preparing for a section just in case and I’ve packed, peppermint capsules for trapped wind, pain killers, a toiletry bag to hook on the back of the door so no bending, extra long charger, water bottle with long straw and obviously knickers/clothes to go over the wound xx

@Laura I was frank breech at 34 weeks and now I'm 36 and he is head down❤️ Just a wee bit of positivity for you🤞🏼 x

I've had both an emergency and planned section and will have a final section on the 21st January. I was terrified at the thought of one in my first pregnancy, but was taken back by how calm and organised they are. Everyone knew their role and it was clear this was an operation they did routinely and knew inside out and back to front. For an elective, you can choose to have music on, dimmed lights, delayed cord clamping etc. As a hospital hater, I can say it really is OK. Everyone is there for you and the baby.

@Hannah yes I have been trying some exercises from there and the ball too. Thankyou. X

@Laura thankyou. I am 36 weeks. I don't want them to turn her because of the risks. Thanks so much xx

@Jo thanks so much. Did you do a c section birth plan? Did you have epidural or spinal block for pain? Xx

@Laura I hope baby moves for you x

Yeah, I’m the same. Really not wanting them to try and move him!

@Laura I am also breech and had a ECV on Monday and honestly it was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever experienced🫣 they did two attempts to move her and after that I had to tell them to stop, which they did straight away! But baby didn’t budge at all😅x
