How can i get him to drink more milk?

We bottle fed before bed till he was 15months as we thought keeping him on the bottle will make our long haul flights easier.. which it did. But now that we're back and dumped the bottle. He doesn't take milk any other way except for in his morning porridge! Which means he isn't getting enough calcium. We give him some yoghurt in the day but nowhere near the 2 to 3 cups recommended a day. Anyone else been through this and can offer some advice?

My LG gave up milk completely 3 months ago, no matter what I try she won't have any. I stressed about it for a long while but now I've just had to come to terms with it. Sorry not much help but you aren't alone xx

Milk isn’t a requirement as long as LO is drinking plenty of water and having 2-3 servings of dairy products per day. My lo has cmpa and can’t have dairy at all, there are lots of other foods which are high in calcium if you do some research xx

@Tara thanks! It's comforting to hear. Sorry you went through the stress bit. I'm currently going through it being unsure if I'm giving my little one all the nutrients he needs. I'm sure it's just unnecessary panic but was also afraid I'd end up being too late to rectify if it needed rectifying

@Natallie thanks! Yeah I may need to look into other ways to provide calcium. And true! I do need to check his water intake.

My little one started refusing milk just after her first birthday when we offered it in cups instead of bottles, she's never gone back but we just give her lots of yoghurts (her fave), cheese (try to avoid too much cheddar for the salt but butter her toast/sandwiches with dairylea/philadelphia and give her Dairylea triangles in her lunch box) and cook milk into a lot (like white sauce) she loves her veg and leafy greens are a good source of calcium. Don't worry about it she's been thriving and hasn't had her milk direct for months now. Sometimes it would be easier to just give a cup but there's always a workaround x

@Eleanor thank you! Yeah, I need to work out the workarounds. So true! Much easier when he just had a full bottle but it is what it is. Good ideas I'll try see if we can do some of them too. Thanks!
