I was in the hospital for 2 days and 2 nights after my elective c-section. They said I could stay a 3rd night if I felt like I needed it but I chose to go home.
24 hours but there were no complications.xx
48 hours is typically the standard I believe unless there are complications. Basically it depends on how well you and baby do afterward. They want to make sure you can get up and walk on your own, and can use the bathroom (since you get a catheter for the csection). If you do those quicker than anticipated without any issues, they may let you go sooner.
48 hours is standard where I live if no complications:)
I was discharged in 24hours x
I was only in 1 night. If you're mobile, have been to the toilet, have your pain under control and the doctors are happy with you and baby, and they have time to do your discharge paperwork / meds, then there's no reason you can't go home
I stayed one night for mine. Baby was born 12 noon I was home by 4pm next day!
