Food Aversion

My tiny human is 14 months, has a cold and is most likely teething again. As a result he just doesn't want food, and he's normally a right foodie. So I'm not sure how to help him. He has Weetabix in the morning, I offer lunch and dinner. But he picked. He will have some pouches, melting sticks and fruit. But is there anything else I can do for him?

Poor babe 😔 when my daughter is sickly like that I try to make her favorite foods that are softer and easier to chew but also gave her protein shakes. My girl has loved sandwiches, noodles, soup, and rice

When my son is sick he loves bananas, and anything else soft. Like scrambled eggs, a peanut butter sandwich, and yogurt.

@Katie protein shakes??? How do you make these, or do you buy them? Thank you for the suggestions as well. He's never really had a firm favourite, which might be why I'm struggling!

@Brooklyn peanut butter sandwich is a great shout!! I'll try this!! Thank you!

@Hannah I actually use a protein powder and milk but they make premade kids protein shakes you could try too

When they are unwell just give them what they want.. that’s what I do.. when my little ones have been unwell I just offer fruit, porridge / ready break, wheatabix.. you have to think when we are poorly we don’t feel like eating much so they probably don’t! Sounds like they are having enough food to still keep them going and you’ll know when the appetite returns x

Babies in general get off from food if they are feeling ill, as long as your lil bubba is drinking and having plenty of wet nappies don’t worry about it. Even if it looks easy, It takes a lot of energy to eat and digest. So let him have plenty of fluids. Hope your lil one feels better soon.
