When can an ultrasound tech say gender confidently?

Hello! If I have an ultrasound booked when I’m 12w6d, will the tech tell me the presumed gender? Or is nub theory the only way to tell at that point? TIA ❤️

They should never say with 100% confidence. At 12+6 it’s just the nub theory that might give you a clue

From 16 weeks onwards gender may appear on an ultrasound

When I was enquiring about my nub theory everyone said girl but I’m having a boy so at this stage I wouldn’t take it as a determining point but rather a fun guess

Mine told me with confidence girl at 18weeks and every scan up to 32 weeks after that I was told boy so when I gave birth first thing I did was check🫣 nub theory also said girl… he was definitely a boy

Mine told me boy at 12 weeks, genetics confirmed he is infact a boy and he most definitely left us with no doubts at your ultrasound today! It’s definitely possible but not always 100%!
