Exercise your glutes. They need to strengthen them up to get rid of the pain.
My hip pain got better after using a birthing ball daily. I'm trying to use it for most things I'd do while sitting. The pain isn't gone, but I'm getting much more sleep now. Maybe I was just lucky that this has helped for me, but maybe worth a try?
@Helen I do the same, toss and turn from side to side until around 4am when it’s unbareable so I go on my back propped up at an angle on loads of pillows. I also take paracetamol before I go to sleep in case it can help just with the first couple hours of the night
I was having hip pain in my first pregnancy and knew I ideally wanted another baby which I'm luckily due with now...so I went all out and got a z-bed mattress (which we also use for guests and camping) and I put that on top of my normal mattress and its honestly heaven.. I've had no pain since using it as I just sort of sink into it. It was maybe around £100 on amazon though but I spent half that trying out pillows initially to no avail. Other than that a bolster pillow to put your top leg over is good and recommended in pregnancy yoga (which also helps with muscle pain tactics). I've got a couple of v pillows but find them a bit useless tbh.
it's the sciatic nerve for me and it's only on the left side 🥹 I take paracetamol before bed but it's absolutely painful still for few hours until my body gets to relax and rest for a while... I find that the pregnancy pillow might make it worse sometimes if it's pressuring the lower back in wrong places etc so it takes a while finding the right angle and everything... but for whatever reason when I wake up for toilet over night I come back to bed and find a good position right away 😅 i keep telling myself that it's for only a month and a little and to hang in there but if someone found a solution I'd love to know 😅😅
I prop myself up for the last part of the night so I’m basically sitting. It’s the only thing I can do - I’ve got different pillows, bought a mattress topper, all sorts. Nothing works.
