Introducing foods

Hi ftm here my baby is 10 months old and I’m having a hard time feeding him purées/ food sometimes he enjoys it sometimes he doesn’t. I want to eventually stop breastfeeding hopefully by 1, but him not fully eating purées has me on pause. Any advice?

Have you thought about traditional baby led weaning(not purées)? This is what I plan to do with mine🤷🏽‍♀️

Definitely look into the solidstarts for different recipes. It really helped when we first started out

@Bella Gerry yeah everytime I have him in control he will throw 95% of his food on the floor 🫠

I’m unintentionally doing that already but trying to stick to two meals a day. The solid starts only says one

have you tried steamed pureed apples?

I think unfortunately food on the floor is part of the process, they're learning as annoying and disheartening as it is for us! Are you eating with him? My lo eats so much better when we all eat together. Also sometimes having her on my lap just eating my own and then she'll want to try what I have. I think it can just be a slow process unfortunately if they're not that excited by food as my LG wasn't/isn't. The other thing can be when are you giving milk? Is there a big enough gap between milk and offering food? I'm sure he'll get there one way or another. It didn't really click with my LG until nearer a year but as I say she still has days where she's still not fussed but we have successfully weaned off the breast.

@Dana yes sometimes he likes it sometimes he doesn’t

@Rachel so majority of his meals areh with me we eat breakfast together typically after he has his morning feed otherwise he’ll cry and scream until he gets his milk. I do notice he always puts his hand in his mouth when I feed him sometimes he takes the food out other times he doesn’t it’s pretty stange

His favorite foods right now are avocado with eggs Banana with avocado Potato’s Even with his favorite he won’t finish his food it’s rare he does
