What does this crying mean?

She does this whenever put in her bassinet at night, but will sleep anywhere else. She does it for hours. Please don’t comment on sleep safety, we are fully watching her and she cries like this so much she throws up (hence the muslin currently under her) and kicks her blanket everywhere..

Aww poor baby! Have you tried getting her to take a pacifier? I just started mine on one yesterday and ngl it's been a blessing. She didn't cry quite that much or that hard but she would constantly wake every 20 minutes and cry, wanting to comfort nurse. Does she do it every time in the bassinet? Like day and night? Or only during certain times?

If it's in the evening, it could just be her witching hours. On bad days mine will cry between 5pm-10pm and on good days it'll last only 7pm-9pm. If she seems to just knock out after a while it's probably a witching hour thing

Could you try swaddling with the blanket / a muslin? Game changer for us.

That sounds like pain. Could she have acid reflux? Can you try pitching the bassinet at an angle?

@Chloe she hates being swaddled unfortunately, just kicks harder and thrusts herself around 😩

@Tanya yes it’s pretty much every time she is in the bassinet, slightly worse at night. She has a pacifier but usually spits it out instantly when in this mood 😭

@JL its already at a slight angle, it could be reflux but not sure. Midwives just seemed to ignore us when i said what was happening.

I’m having the same problem too- my son is 3 months old and recently wants to sleep on me all night. I put him down and within 30 minutes he’ll be up crying. He’s not hungry, nor a dirty nappy and doesn’t have any reflux issues. My son hates a pacifier. It’s getting really difficult as I’m exhausted!

Bassinet might be a bit too big for her? Mine has to sleep in a moses basket inside the bassinet still. That cry is indicating a lot of discomfort though (like a worse version of what my boy does when he's cold and naked) but if it's only in this bassinet a smaller space might help?

Try to get her checked for acid reflux. I kept going emergency cause my son wouldn't stop crying in the end we went to private and they gave liquid omeprazole when he was 3 months and worked soooooo well.
