Sleeping đź’¤

My daughter is 5 weeks on Friday and she sleeps on her own from 7pm to 11-12pm either in next to me bed or Moses basket then feed/change her after that I go to put her down and within 10 mins she’s crying cause she wants to be cuddled to fall asleep then she’s in my arms from 1am to 6am Anyone got advice to get her into a routine without being held or the best thing to do??

I'm so sorry but this is really really normal. The hormone that makes breastmilk is highest between 2 and 5am, so babies are biologically designed to be near us and wanting to feed to stimulate that milk production, even if you're not breastfeeding. Sounds like she's not feeding in that time but wanting to be near you is still likely down to this.

@Charley okay thank you

@Madison it is hard but it doesn't last forever, you can keep trying things to get her back into her next to moses basket. Or get your bed set up for safe co sleeping so that you can both get some rest

@Madison im in the same boat as you, he sleeps all day and up all night no matter what i try his 2 weeks old so its expected but hopefully it will get easier

@Melissa thank you x

I’m in the same position my son is almost three weeks and he sleeps all day in his Moses basket but from 11pm onwards it’s my chest or he’s awake within minutes 🥲 I sympathise with you as it’s so difficult xx
