Hi lovely, I literally had a call 10 minutes ago to say my levels were raised so I'm now waiting for a call from the hospital. Not sure what to expect myself other than possibly having to test for a week and then go over the results with them to see if i definitely have it 🫤 it definitely sucks but I know people who've had it and they managed just fine and their little ones were healthy. Try not to worry xx
I have just been diagnosed and started testing my levels. I was really worried at first, but as long as you are careful and keep your levels within range (which i’ve found is a lot easier than i was expecting it to be) then the risks are very low ❤️ i would be talking to the diabetes team at your hospital to go through facts about GD in twin pregnancy but I’m guessing the advice is the same and as long as you can keep your levels under control, risk to your babies will be manageable ❤️
I was diagnosed with it just over 2 weeks ago, I have to test my blood a total of 6 times a day. It’s honestly not too bad you just have to time when you plan to eat as you have to fast for 2 hours before food and fast an hour after food then test. I was told as I was just over to try and manage with what I eat for now and they will check again in a few weeks
Also don’t worry yourself too much, my midwife told me it’s a lot more common than people think
Try not to worry about it too much even though I know it’s hard, at your diabetes clinic they tend to tell you all the things you can’t eat & it can panic you but you’ll be fine. I had it with my first pregnancy but not this time & with my first I managed to control mine just through my diet. If you want to message for any advice my inbox is open.
Did anyone have any symptoms of having this im due my test next week
I had zero symptoms and didn’t have it in my first pregnancy, I’m pregnant with twins this time round so the doctor tried to reassure me and say it’s nothing I’ve done or eaten it’s apparently more common in multiple pregnancies x
Ah that must be worrying for you 🙁 Did you have any symptoms? No advice I’m afraid but hope they can give you a good plan to manage it 🤞🏻
