@Ebony that's my issue. It's absolutely horrid and I can't stand it but I want to give her the opportunity to self feed and she's too little to start proper solids yet 😅
Me and my partner have Autism and honestly my LG is much less messy than most babies we know but we still find it all too much. We have had to suck it up for a few things like her hands being messy and ours taking the spoon back but these have helped so much...
@Danielle definitely going to have to look into getting some of these!
@Salem we just take it off her, touching no messy bits take it to the bathroom and use the shower to clean. Then hang up to dry and use for next meal.
You can also bring a jug of warm water to the table and have her dip her hands in to clean them off to help get some of the excess food off. Even teach her to put her utensils in so you can carry it to the sink to rinse off.
I do!!!!!!!!!!!! Food pacifiers!!! Let me send you a linky linky I have major sensory issues so when we did purées when i was solo I’d put them into a food pacifier & let my son handle it. And when dad was home he’d get to self feed from a spoon! Once we made it to solids he was super eager to start trying to use the spoon or spork all on his own (:

@Parker 又 oh I actually have some of these! I mainly used them for frozen breast milk when my daughter was teething really bad, and I've seen people putting fruit and veg in them and I've been scared to do that but I totally spaced on the fact that I can just freeze purees and pop em in 😅. Unfortunately though my fiance refuses to help with mealtime since he says she's "not ready" and our daughter's pediatrician is "an idiot who needs to go back to medical school" 🙄 so it's always just me for meals but I'll definitely be using these sometimes to make it easier on myself lol
@Salem I didn’t freeze the purées everytime!!! I’d give them as their puréed form in there! I’d have their lid on while I loaded it up and closed it!!
@Parker 又 omg that's actually really smart. I'm so glad I have this app cuz I'd be lost without it lmao
Also when we shifted towards solids; I started when I was all alone by putting them in there too. I didn’t blend them, I’d just cut them into pieces I could shove in. I’d bring them too restaurants with us too!
I almost always give my little girl her food in just her nappy. As soon as she’s done eating if she’s really messy she just goes straight in the bath that way most of it gets washed off before I have to touch it. If my partners at home one of us will hold her and the other will run the shower over her which is even better. The same goes for the high chair. Straight in to the shower it almost always gets every last bit of food off then all I have to do is spray it and wipe just to make sure it’s thoroughly clean
@Salem I think we did broccoli at this age (now 7 months) as you can get it super soft and it's easier cleaning up. Maybe baby rice as it doesn't have that weird lumpy wet texture porridge has 🤢
Bibadoo is apparently a good one to use covers everythint
I've got issues with porridge on my hands. Whenever I feed my 7 month old porridge shell grab the spoon and cover the whole spoon in porridge and I just can't touch oats like that
