@Joanna I deep down didn’t want to do it, it took me a week after seeing the doctors and was only because family kept saying ‘well it might not be CMPA’ and going on about the milk ladder blah blah. I knew I should have went with my gut and refused. He’s so uncomfortable now bless him he’s straining non stop and just cannot get anything out, it’s literally like watching my old baby again who was so unhappy when he was first born 😢 praying today he manages to pass something and be abit happier. Honestly the stress of CMPA is real, I’m here anytime you need to speak! Just send me a message x
@Ellesea we were the exact same. My mum kept saying ‘well I doubt it is that it’s just colic’ until we switched to pepti and within a few weeks she saw my tiny baby starting to enjoy life rather than constantly screaming all day. Always trust your mumma instincts. I’ll message you now x
It can take up to 6 weeks for the proteins to leave their system, again ☹️I refused to put her back on normal formula after the end of our trial and our paediatrician just wrote ‘likely CMPA’ in her records and give us the milk on prescription. I’m absolutely dreading introducing it again (which we need to do before weaning age) as it took like 6 weeks of screaming just to get her being somewhat comfortable 🤦🏽♀️ Paediatrician says the proteins damage the ‘prongs in their stomach used for digesting food’ (whatever this means), so it can take weeks for the body to repair them again. Hopefully it won’t take as long as it was only 4 bottles, but I’d say just persevere🤞🏼at least you’ve done it and got your diagnosis, much braver than me x
