Thank you Elizabeth!
Daycare teacher here, always ask! In my city the average wait time is 10 months, but some have openings earlier if a child is taken out or a kiddo ages up. When you apply, when you tour, and once a month call and check. And dont just ask if they have any openings but if they can see any possible upcoming openings. If they can, check in every 2 weeks instead of per month. You are not annoying them, you are showing enthusiasm for their school and keeping your kiddos fresh in their minds. Check neighborhood online groups and ask if anyone knows of anything. Its a battle for sure but it can be done. you got this!
That's very helpful too ☺️ Thanks Victoria!
As someone who works in a daycare the waitlists are always SUPER long and typically you want to try to get your name on before babe is born to guarantee a spot. I would reach out to them and ask for updates periodically and have a backup plan in mind until a spot opens up at the place you really want.
