Meal time disaster

Hi, how are you deal with meal times? I'm stressed, my little one doesn't want to eat by herself, only if I'm feeding her with a spoon. I don't know how to encourage her to eat without my help. Please any advice

Sometimes, especially when ill or very tired, our 5yo (who is a very good, independent eater) wants to be fed by us. I don't think it's a disaster just a phase of wanting a specific type of attention from you. It'll pass. Our almost 2yo twins do this on occasion. We just go with it.

My little boy (almost 2 years old) goes through phases, sometimes he wants to feed himself while other times he is happy for me to feed him. As long as he’s eating I don’t mind. His recent teething has meant he totally went off all foods, so I just pray he eats even if I have to spoon feed himself.

Does your little one ever eat meals with other children (same age or younger) as they are often so fascinated by being with other children that they want you copy what they are doing (self-feeding). When we started at nursery my daughter could only really use a spoon for sticky food like porridge but she developed so quickly there just by watching the other kids and wanting to fit in!
