I did some Cosleeping with each of mine. My 3.5 year old transitioned to a crib around 7/8 months and same with my second. My 3.5 year old currently starts the night out in her bed and makes her way into ours. We don’t make her move back because I have a 15 month old who still wakes 1-2 times to breastfeed in the night and I’m exhausted enough. Plus from what I’ve learned recently it does wonders for them to sleep with their parents at this age. I’m hoping once my 15 month old is 3 the two girls will share a room and end up in each others beds and not ours. Either way you aren’t creating a bad habit! It’s so good for both of you to Cosleep, and when your ready she will learn to like sleeping in her crib
@Joi I sometimes wake up and find my sons sleeping together in one bed. It's by far the cutest thing ever
I only have experience sleep training a 3 year old so that’s all I can go off of. I wasn’t with her when she was a new born. So I appreciate hearing other stories. I don’t feel like it impedes on my relationship at the moment and I asked my hubs if he enjoys it and so far it’s not an issue. I see it more as survival and if it gives us more sleep then this up down constantly getting her to fall asleep in her bassinet than so be it. I don’t care for those who freak on the safety issue
I think it's great you try to get her down in the bassinet first. Over time, she will sleep longer and longer stretches in it until she is ready for the crib. I would bring my babies (only one, when they were babies) into bed with me after my husband got up for work between 4-6am. Like bf, over time, they just don't need it anymore. It is harder to sleep train if you cosleep all night or start that way first thing at night, but I think starting in the bassinet moving to the bed later will set you up for later success.
I coslept with my first until 2. Wasn't that hard to get him in his own room. Currently cosleeping with my second.
We bedshare. We have since day 4. 🤣 she's almost two, we still bedshare. We did get a bed for her and it's in their room. We made it cute with a little tent on top and she goes in there to "read" to her stuffed animals during the day. They're not yet ready to sleep in it at night though. We're okay with that.
My daughter transitioned to floor bed at 2, not a problem at all, currently cosleeping with youngest, definitely not a bad habit…. Biological norm, get the sleep ❤️❤️❤️
I co slept with my first two and am currently co sleeping with my third. My older kids slept with me until around 4 years of age. They sleep just fine in their own beds now. My 9 year old has no sleep issues and my 5 year old goes to bed on his own. They'll sometimes still want a quick cuddle but they don't ask to sleep in my bed anymore. Enjoy this time with your baby.
