@Aimee that makes me feel better. My OB has me test 2 hours after meals and wants me under 120. I’m usually in the 80s or 90s but had a chicken burger tonight and knew I shouldn’t have. In also struggle with fasting numbers but lately they have been in the 80s which is better than my last pregnancy. It’s hard not to worry. Thanks for your response.
Of course I was worried when mine jumped to 170 cause I was bad and had syrup on my pancakes and she told me it wasn’t going to hurt her. It’s the constant highs that sent good for them. Occasional highs won’t do any harm.
@Aimee That makes sense and makes me feel better! Thank you!!! I also miss syrup lol My last pregnancy I did use a sugar free syrup and I did fine with that. Worth a shot! I haven’t tried it this pregnancy.
I also test for 140 or under 1 hour after meals.
It’s also about balance. For instance, I made blueberry almond flour pancakes and had syrup and didn’t spike.
You just need it to be under 140 according to my OB. Fasting under 90. 1 hour post meal 140. I’m abnormal and only being treated cause I’m super high risk and my fasting was always above 90 but I rarely ever go above 110 even with eating. Just remember 1 higher sugar isn’t going to hurt them. My diabetes educator told me as long as I was complaint 90% of the time they were happy cause they understand we are pregnant and sometimes have less control of what we need.
