formulas for weight gain

hey mamas! so, i know babies grow at their own pace but i have been a little tiny bit concerned with my babies weight. she is 5 months old and is in the 50th percentile for her weight WHICH is very normal average for her age (or so i’m told) however, my mama heart is sad to see every other baby her age, chubby and healthy looking. as i said, she’s in the normal percentile but my gut feeling says she should be a lot bigger than what she is because of how much she eats in a day. she is on Similac 360 total care (the blue one) and i’ve been trying to find some other formulas to switch so she can start gaining more weight. i really want something that is organic and full of all the nutrients she needs. please do not judge me as i am a ftm and just want more for my baby. i shouldn’t go off of other peoples babies lol but its not just one or two babies i see that are bigger than her… its EVERY baby. even formula fed ones. just some advice or different formulas i could research please ☹️

When I was a ftm my baby girl was skinny also and never got chunky like other babies but she is 5 now and perfectly healthy she is still a skinny girl so it could be her body style! Don't give up mama yout doing great. My baby girl as on formula as well.

In the first 4 months breast fed babies tend gain weight faster, after 5 months formula fed babies gain weight faster. Soon you should see that gain.

My first has always been around 50 or sometimes lower for weight and she's totally healthy. When she was about this age, she was like 14lbs, my son now is around 20. I sometimes felt the same way you do, but that's definitely a healthy weight! Don't stress yourself too much! (Coming from someone who stressed about too much as a FTM 😅)

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Mines is a bit lower than average weight. She's 12lbs eats every 2 hours 2.5-3.5 oz of milk. But she's growing and healthy that's all that matters even her doctors make sure to ensure me she's fine and healthy and growing and hitting milestones that's all that matters. If they felt she needed some fattening up they would more than likely inform you. While we all love chunky monster babies, the skinny ones need love too. ❤️❤️ don't let the number on the scale take away from the joys of your very healthy and regular sized baby.

My little is 33rd percentile but totally healthy. He’s so active (rolled before 4 months) and really long. Pediatrician isn’t concerned at all. If you are looking for potential other formula recs, we use ByHeart and love it.

It’s normal… both babies breastfed.. my oldest was a slim baby and now he’s just a slim 4 year old… my second is chunky… as long as they are healthy you’re fine… with my first I was like I want a chunky baby… but his weight he’s heavy asf so I get tired faster

It's normal! Don't worry! Your baby is 50th percentile, so by definition half of babies that age weigh more and half weigh less. Is she very long for her age? I was also a relatively skinny baby (so skinny people would comment on it) but I was perfectly healthy. Some babies are just skinny and it runs in my family to have long, thin babies. What did your pediatrician say?

Totally normal. My first was never chunky. Today he is an active 3.5 year old in the 25th percentile. As long as they are following their growth curve everything should be fine.
