My public health nurse told me these would improve my supply: oats, porridge, flapjacks, non alcoholic beer, fennel and lactation cookies
Get the mothers milk tea And lactation pills Girl these have me making like 12 oz a pump. I had to take a break on it cuz I am always in pain.
Staying extremely hydrated helps so much. I also make a daily smoothie that I think helps a lot. I use spinach, blueberries, banana, strawberry, flax seed, organic vanilla protein powder, oats and oat milk and I truly swear by it!
I found spinach worked for me best and fenugreek pills
Be careful with fenugreek, it works great for some women and tanks other women’s supplies!
@Elyssa was just coming here to say this! The only true proven method is milk removal, if you remove a lot of milk and do power pumps (which imitates cluster feeding) it'll trigger your body to make more but as the first poster said, don't aim to be an oversupplier. You also have to be well hydrated to make milk so if you're not getting enough water, this effects your supply. Hormones do as well, if your body is getting ready to ovulate, your supply will be effected.
@Elyssa I didn’t know. Learned something new 💕
Body armor/coconut water beverages! Raw lactation balls with brewers yeast :) also moringa powder added to smoothies! Good luck mama
Girl, pls try tea with Dandelion in it. I'm not joking, I had ONE cup of a peach ginger and Dandelion tea, and next morning I had soaked through a pillow. I spent 5 minutes frantically trying to figure out "what spilled" lolllll. I thought it was coincidence, so I didn't drink another cup for 2 days, then tried it again..... same thing. SO MUCH MILK.
Coconut oil, body armor, oats, pump after nursing or every 2-3 hours. There are also lactations supplements and teas you can try. Make sure to nurse or empty through the night at least once. Power pump. Use a plug in pump. And remember that supply fluctuates! It’s hard to manage sometimes but stick to it until you get back to a good supply and then maintain with making sure you empty 8x a day. Remember: enough to fill up baby and maybe an oz pumped after nursing is normal! 2-4 oz each breast, pumping without nursing is average! Also try mama earths nipple butter before, after nursing and pumping (it’s all natural and safe).
Thanks ladies @Stephanie the 2/3 oz was just a pumping session it wasn’t after a nursing session this is why I started to worry, I know you always have one over achiever but Im lucky if I get 10ml from the left side and could just about scrape 2oz from the right and normally that girl was giving out 3oz+ I have not tried a plugged in pump after a feeding session but I have been popping the Hakka on to ensure they are fully drained and I might get 10/20ml from both after lo has fed
LO is gaining weight maybe it’s not a supply issue and I’m just over thinking it maybe she just likes to see how far she can pull my nipple before I break 🤣
Pump output isn't an indicator of your supply. Your supply has likely settled and behaviour at the breast is likely developmental, them becoming aware of the world. Continue to feed on demand x
2/3oz after a feeding is very normal. 9 weeks is a little after milk supply has regulated. You've most likely just gotten to where you produce just what baby needs (per supply and demand) So if you want to increase supply, you'd beed to increase demand. I would not recommend trying to become an oversupplier though as that has its own slew of cons. I fully understand wanting a little extra for a small stash, but definitely try not to get to the point where you have too much (I.e. social media oversupplier status lol) As someone who was an oversupplier, I would not wish it on anyone. I was excited at first and then after a few months the excitement faded and it just weighed on me mentally and physically.
