Visitors

Hi all, I’m a first time mum and gave birth to my baby girl last week. She is perfect in every way! However I’m very nervous about having visitors over, especially over Christmas when there is so many colds and viruses going around. I unfortunately missed having the RSV vaccine during pregnancy too. How are you all managing it? So far I’ve just had grandparents meet her.

I’d say just express your boundaries and confirm with people before they come that they haven’t got any sniffles or been around anyone that hasn’t been very well

We’re doing a two week rule with no visitors because of RSV season. If you’re wanting loved ones to meet your baby, you could always say they could come over, but that you’ll be the only one holding her for the next *however long you’re comfortable with*. That way they can see the baby but with minimal germs? Just a thought :)

By saying no 😉

Your baby your rules. Don’t worry about offending anyone, your babe’s health and safety is more important. Only do what you’re comfortable doing.
