Yeah he is, cat, mama, dada, banana, grandma, go, up & down are all clear, then idk if these count as words, but he says cardo for avocado, eleff for elephant, tuck tuck for trash truck (the tv show), heaps of animal noises, beep beep when he sees cars, hohoho for santa etc, but like they’re obv noises not words. He also signs for “more” and “all done” but I’m not honestly sure what actually even counts as words tbf! I thought the professionals say they don’t have to sound clear to count, as long as they are consistently using them in the right/multiple contexts. Also my son is 14 months in a few days so a little older than yours. xx
Dad-deeeee is about the only thing mine says!!
My LG says, Car, Plane, Mama, Papa, nana, Clock, ballon, Baby, Hi, Bye, santa, nai(for no in Hindi) makes animal sounds and poem sounds and actions.
Mine can say daddy, mama ( he doesn’t say it often 😮💨), pop, bear, duck, thank you, hi, bye bye
@Bex any consistent noise (or sign language) counts as a word! So woof for dog would count etc. My daughter says tuh-tuh for turtle consistently but it's obviously not quite right (halfway there!) but it sounds. I saw something from a speech therapist on Instagram and was surprised how many things count as a word!
All we've got so far is mama, dada, yeah, hi She knows "want" in sign language and uses that a lot too
My lg can said mama, mummy, Daddy, dada and her version of Wilfred and woof woof
