Sterilising

Are you still sterilising? I know the guidance is till 12 months but it seems silly when he is eating all this food and none of the cuterly or plates or sterilised. I know it’s to do with the milk but it just seems a bit pointless at this age!

My lo is licking windows and drinking out the dog bowl any chance he gets… 🤦🏼‍♀️ ( I do lift the bowl most the time but the dog needs to drink too and he’s walking/crawling so frigging fast) so I thought what’s the point about a month ago 🙈

I often sterilise the bottles from the day at night but don’t bother through the day if it’s been used I just wash them.

VA

my little one has only 2 bottles per day ( morning and before sleep) and we have mum bottles so i do put them in the microwave in the evening .. but not as stressed as before if its gets only wash its ok too :)

In Greece (where I’m from and that’s how I was given this advice) the official guidance from paediatricians is to stop sterilising once the baby starts solids. Firstly, baby’s immune system starts getting stronger. Secondly, they’re putting everything in the mouth anyway so there’s not much point in sterilising.

Guilty of still sterilising after each use . We are on 4 bottles a day though so life is easier !
