Sign of labour about to begin?

So I’m 38 weeks today and keen to hear what others think as the last couple of days things feel a little different for me and can’t help but think labour is near. These are the things I’ve been experiencing: - Constant braxton hicks - this is pretty much on one side of my belly and it goes pretty much solid and bulges a lot, I’d say this is a few times in the hour - lightening crotch was god awful yesterday when walking, had to sit down and order a cab home as I couldn’t make it back it was that bad - increased urination - last night probably went to the toilet 6-7 times when typically I go 3 maximum - increased swelling. Noticed my feet and hands are more swollen this week - pain in hands when I wake up - belly feels heavier than normal - increased discharge Are these typical symptoms this late in pregnancy or could actually be a sign that labour is super close by?

Sudden swelling in hands and feet can be a sign of pre eclampsia, keep an eye on that and speak to your midwife if youre concerned xx In terms of Braxton hicks, I had them a lot but then they stopped, Im 40+3 and no labour signs yet so I don't think Braxton hicks is a sign. I think the increased pressure and more urination is a sign of the head being engaged, but again that doesn't mean imminent labour, some people have that for weeks I'm afraid xx

These sound like normal third trimester symptoms, not early labour or anything - don't worry. Except for swelling in hands and feet - that should be investigated as it could be preeclampsia xx

These are normal symptoms in late pregnancy! Unless you’re contracting 3-4 times in 10 minutes, not much is going on in Afraid! It’s such a waiting game! Xx
