baby falling off bed

my almost 5 month old baby just fell off the bed. i put her in the middle like i always do turned to start cleaning up and i heard a bang and she was on the floor. what do i do! she’s okay now and calmed down and i can’t see any cuts or anything but my baby dad screamed at me saying it’s all my fault and to ‘fuck off’ and i just feel horrendous. he makes me out to be the worst mum all the time when he does fuck all for her apart from cuddle her. i’m so upset. do i need to take her to the hospital? she probably fell about a foot onto carpet

Honestly, this will happen to a lot of people, just not everyone will admit it so please don't beat yourself up! When it happened to me my husbands friend said it won't be the last time and he was right. As long as she hasn't got an obvious bump, doesn't start being sick or drowsy, she should be absolutely fine. Just keep a close eye on her x

Very similar happened to my little one, and a very similar reaction from my partner also. As long as she wasn’t knocked unconscious she should be fine (of course get her checked out if you’re worried) but just monitor her. These babies are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for!❤️ I hope you’re okay!x

Happens a lot! I can’t advise but just wanted to say that your husband’s reaction was completely unreasonable and once the dust settles I would tell him how upsetting that was and that he needs to remember you’re a team, hope you’re ok don’t beat yourself up x

It happened to me with my first! I was hysterical and she was totally fine! Get her checked if you are worried, but also your partners reaction is totally out of order! As if you don’t feel bad enough! He should help more if he thinks he’s so perfect! 😡

My baby fell out the bed at 5 months old too - happens to so many of us! Tell your baby dad to piss off and maybe help look after your baby whilst you clean the house, or for him to clean the house whilst you look after the baby. Men have absolutely no idea what it’s like being a mum and what stupid comments like that can do to us You’re doing a great job🥰

Ahhh I remember when this happened I felt awful also my husband had quite a similar reaction that I wasn’t paying attention. Was my fault blah blah like he was there watching her. However he did apologise after I guess it was the first time her hurting herself and I didn’t think she would roll off and the scream was scary. Everyone I told said she’s not the first and definitely won’t be the last. There will be lots of bumps along the way I did ring the doctor as I panicked however they said as long as she’s not knocked out or vomiting then I shouldn’t worry. She had a little bruise on her head for two days and that was it. They’re definitely stronger than we realise. Now she’s constantly bumping herself from where she is trying to walk 😅
