First of all, you are doing a fantastic job. My son is 4 years old and is nonverbal, but he stims and makes similar noises. He's very active and loves his tablet. I talk to him as much as I can and read books. We tried picture exchange, but he's not interested, so he's started showing us when he wants something now. I recommend contacting your local health service for information, there are classes and advice they can give.
Firstly, you haven’t failed her! The fact that you’re here shows that. My son (3, almost 4) stays home with me too and is SUPER active. It’s also important to note that at 2, being very busy is normal! I’ve found that sensory activities like kinetic sand, playdoh, ball pit, slides, climbing triangle, or anything that involves the senses help slow down my son and meets his sensory need input that I think causes him to be so hyperactive and can’t focus. TV can be a great tool when used correctly, personally I’d suggest cutting down on TV time (or even play just music from it like super simple songs) to help build up her attention span. Reach out to your pediatrician for an evaluation, since she’s under 3 she might qualify for assistance! One great tip our SLP gave us was to mimic how they play , so get down on the floor with them and repeat the sounds she makes. Baby ASL can help communication, as well as picture exchange!
Do you have access to a speech-language pathologist? Has she been assessed by her doctor? Has her hearing been checked? :)
