Weaning confusion

I accidentally started weaning at 24 weeks (I thought this was 6 months) and obviously baby wasn’t completely ready but she would lick puree and was very good with the spoon. She then had a few days when she was actually 6 months where she ate a bowl of daal, beans on toast and minty peas. Unfortunately she had broncholtis and was given calpol through a syringe and has since been given another medication through a syringe. She doesn’t like the medications and we had to unfortunately force it into her mouth sometimes but more often tried to trick or distract her. Even then she would raspberry it out at us. Now she is not eating nearly as much. She won’t let me use the spoon and wants to feed herself which I am fine with since her aim is pretty good. She prefers the solid food and not puree. She’s 29 weeks and I’m worried she won’t enjoy food. Have I given her an aversion? How can I fix the issues? Is there an issue? Or is it normal and I’m being a paranoid first time mum.

Just keep trying she will eventually realise you’re not giving her the medicine anymore. Maybe try more finger foods and continue letting her feed herself x

I should just do more finger food but the original plan for puree and blw. She just has different plans

@Neets I had no plans to do BLW as I didn’t like the idea of it, he now has a mixture and all his food is lumpy now.. just go with what baby wants hun x

Try sweeter foods like banana pears etc I’ve been blending banana avocado and smooth peanut butter my son absolutely loves it

Try to allow her to just feed herself. She won't take as much in to start but that's ok, they don't need to. But make mealtimes fun and messy and she'll love it!

Someone said “food before one is for fun” Thanks for the advice mamas. Will defo try
