Nursery question

Is it appropriate to ask a nursery when they last called an ambulance and what for? My sons settling in session is next year and id want to know how they dealt with emergencies historically. Is this OK to ask without annoying them?! Thoughts? X

I don't see why not, they may double take just because I imagine it is a much less commonly asked question. But you have every right to ask and it is a valid question. They must have policies and guidelines on it because I recall my nursery room manager telling me they needed to know certain medical info in case they ever need to call an ambulance.

You can ask them if it makes you feel at ease and if you're feeling anxious about sending your son to nursery, maybe just tell them upfront. It's very normal to feel this as it's a big change.

Read all their policies carefully as it will be outlined there - what their procedures are in emergencies, sickness etc and then you can ask specifics? Say you are anxious and ask if they ever had to call ambulance and how quick is it from hospital? Is there anything that worries you specifically ? Does your son have allergies or has medical issues? Xx

Did you receive a copy of the contract? They said they would send me a copy but didn't. I feel like I constantly have to chase them. Policies are bot on their website but I will need to request a copy.

Yes we received contract as soon as we got offered the place. They also sent us all of the policies - it’s good to familiarise yourself with them as some sickness policies differ (regarding how long baby has to be off after being sick, when do they call you to collect etc). I’d call them to clarify what happened the other day and request all policies, contract etc
